Bensedin (Diazepam) 10mg Tablets
Diazepam Use
Diazepam works by enhancing the effects of a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, which leads to a calming effect on the central nervous system. It helps reduce anxiety, muscle spasms, and can also be used as a sedative before medical procedures or surgery.
Diazepam Dosage
The dosage of diazepam can vary depending on the condition being treated, the severity of symptoms, and individual response. For anxiety disorders, the typical starting dose for adults is 2mg to 10mg, taken two to four times daily. For muscle spasms, the initial dose is often 2mg to 10mg, three to four times daily. However, dosages may need to be adjusted based on the individual’s response and tolerance. It’s important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
Diazepam Side Effects:
Common side effects of diazepam may include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, dry mouth, and muscle weakness. These side effects are usually mild and transient. However, diazepam can also cause more serious side effects, particularly when used in high doses or for long periods. These may include confusion, memory problems, respiratory depression, paradoxical reactions (such as increased anxiety or agitation), and dependence or withdrawal symptoms with prolonged use. It’s important to use diazepam only as prescribed and to avoid sudden discontinuation of the medication, as this can lead to withdrawal symptoms.
