Morphine Sulfate Dose:
The usual dose of Kadian for adults is 10 to 200 mg taken once a day. The dose may be adjusted depending on the severity of the pain and the individual response. The maximum daily dose is 1200 mg.
Kadian should be taken with a glass of water and swallowed whole. It should not be crushed, chewed, or broken. It should be taken at the same time each day to maintain a steady level of the drug in the body.
Kadian should not be taken for longer than necessary, as it may cause dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal symptoms. Abruptly stopping the medication may lead to restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, sweating, shivering, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The dose should be gradually reduced under medical supervision

Kadian may cause some side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, headache, blurred vision, dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, skin rash, itching, flushing, sweating, respiratory depression, hypotension, bradycardia, and hallucinations. Some of these side effects may be more pronounced in elderly or debilitated patients.
